Internet Marketing like all marketing uses psychological triggers that motivate others to take the action that the marketer wants. This is the basis of the sales of all products, services, and even ideas.

This can be a brilliant tactic for marketing the everyday product that everyone uses, no matter what the price or market. However, when used on the new or inexperienced business owner it can be crippling and even deadly for the survival of their business.

All of us have seen these numerous promotions over the years claiming earning of thousands, then others claiming tens of thousands, then hundreds of thousands and now recently Millions. These numbers set standards that are out of reach for most new businesses owners!

One internet marketer recently even went so far as to promote his new course teaching others how to use the psychological mass control tactics he uses that earned him millions. Other marketers promote their tools, systems or niches that are touted as the final answer to being successful and wealthy.

It’s been said that people are motivated by greed. I believe that most new businesses are started by the motivation of desperation. Many people start new businesses because of financial trouble or simply believe that they can make a better income than they have with their current jobs.

Everyone has heard the stories of people gaining riches online. These tales have reached mythological status. Seldom, though, do these tales tell the complete story.

It doesn’t take long for new online business owners to discover that doing business online is far different than doing businesses in the outside world. They soon realize that there are skills, tools and services necessary for an online business that they don’t have, don’t understand or simply can’t afford.

Those are part of the psychological triggers that marketers use to gain your attention. Then, their psychological ploys convince you that their service, tool or system is the one thing that will take your business over the hump to instant riches.
